Basketball Recap: Bradenton Christian Panthers vs. Keswick Christian Crusaders

It was a good run, but the Bradenton Christian Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to Keswick Christian at home by a decisive 54-39 margin. Bradenton Christian has struggled against the Crusaders recently, as their contest on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Bradenton Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine Mercer, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Taylor Blunden was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Ava Graham continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Keswick Christian, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Graham is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robyn Cantwell, who scored eight points along with five steals.

Bradenton Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8. As for Keswick Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Bradenton Christian will square off against the Cougars at TBD on Friday. Cardinal Mooney presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Florida (the Cougars are ranked 13th, while the Panthers are ranked 182nd). Keswick Christian is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
