Hayfield came out on top against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Colonials. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-6 on April 1st.

Hayfield has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hayfield will take on rival Falls Church at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology is set to square off against their familiar foe Annandale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
