Baseball Recap: South River Comes Up Short

South River might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Kennedy Memorial who claimed the real prize. The Rams fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-7. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Noah Borrero and Jimmy Sanchez did some serious damage despite the final result: Borrero went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Sanchez went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for South River and nudges their season record down to 8-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Kennedy Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South River beat Kennedy Memorial by a score of 9-0 on Friday.
