Basketball Game Preview: Imbler Panthers vs. Echo Cougars

The Imbler Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Echo Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Imbler is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering North Clackamas Christian just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Saints at home by a 51-33 margin.

Meanwhile, Echo had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-24 win over the Rockets. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Echo's win came from a few key players that Imbler will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was McKenzie Hendrix, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. Jaycee Campbell was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Echo was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Echo's record now sits at 17-2. As for Imbler, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

Imbler came up short against Echo in their previous meeting on January 8th, falling 55-45. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
