Baseball Recap: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Gulf Buccaneers
Gibbs extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-11. They came up short against the Gulf Buccaneers, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in March.
As for Gulf, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.
For Gulf's part, Reid Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was Wilson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Diego Cruz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Gibbs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gulf, they will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
