Softball Game Preview: Waite Indians vs. Rogers Rams

The Waite Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Rogers Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Monday, Waite made easy work of Woodward and carried off a 16-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rogers won against Scott on Monday with 27 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Rams' way against Woodward as they made off with a 27-8 victory. The Rams are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fourth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.

Bria Chandler was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Charity Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Waite and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Rogers, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Everything went Waite's way against Rogers when the teams last played back in April, as Waite made off with a 22-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
