Softball Recap: Southland Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Southland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Spring Grove Lions by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in April.

Southland pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Southland will square off against Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mabel-Canton at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
