Kennedy extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Kennedy Knights vs. Wayne Valley Indians

After flying high against the Clifton Mustangs last Thursday, the Kennedy Knights came back down to earth. Kennedy took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wayne Valley on Saturday. Kennedy has not had much luck with Wayne Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Kennedy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being My'Shayla Clancy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 40% of Kennedy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zahniya Castillo, who scored 17 points.

Kennedy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-6. As for Wayne Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Kennedy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Curtis at 10:00 a.m. on January 14th. As for Wayne Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wayne Hills at 4:00 p.m. Wayne Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wayne Valley in New Jersey (Wayne Hills is ranked 116th, while Wayne Valley is ranked 246th).
