Volleyball Recap: Darien Extends Winning Streak to Five

Darien waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the St. Joseph Cadets with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Wave, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 25-14.

Thomas Herget paced Darien's offense, picking up 12 kills. Herget got some help from Jack Wheeler and his 19 assists. Jackson Miller controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Darien pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for St. Joseph, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Darien will square off against rival New Canaan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph is set to face off against their familiar foe Trumbull at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
