Baseball Game Preview: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Venice Indians

The Riverview Sarasota Rams will head out on the road to take on the Venice Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Riverview Sarasota after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Parrish Community by a score of 7-6.

Riverview Sarasota saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alastair Simonson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Caiden Cabral was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Venice had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They never let the Bulls get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

Venice pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Riverview Sarasota, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Riverview Sarasota might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Venice in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
