Football Recap: Winnebago Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Winnebago lost against Genoa-Kingston back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of the Cogs. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Winnebago's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaeden Langholf, who threw for 112 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 55 yards. Brayden Merryman was another key back, rushing for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Winnebago's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Genoa-Kingston, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Winnebago will head out on the road to face off against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Genoa-Kingston, they will host Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cogs will need to watch out since the Fighting Irish have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
