Soccer Game Preview: Pullman vs. Clarkston

The Pullman Greyhounds will head out to challenge the Clarkston Bantams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pullman is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering East Valley just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. Neither they nor the Knights could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Pullman have been dealt a draw since September 4th.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Clarkston's offense. They lost 8-0 to West Valley on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Clarkston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while West Valley are ranked fourth).

Clarkston's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1. With that draw, Pullman's record moves to 3-1-2.

Everything went Pullman's way against Clarkston in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Pullman made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
