Bolivar is 8-1 against Buffalo since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Bolivar will look to defend their home field against Buffalo at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bolivar has four straight victories, Buffalo has 27 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Bolivar didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Hillcrest on Thursday.

Garretson Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Brant Sawyers was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Buffalo's offense. They lost 10-0 to Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.

Bolivar's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bolivar took their victory against Buffalo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Bolivar repeat their success, or does Buffalo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
