Recap: Carson Colts vs. El Segundo Eagles
The Carson Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Segundo. Carson lost against El Segundo in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-51 score last time.
Despite the loss, Carson still got an impressive performance from Jacob Ortega, who scored 23 points. Ortega scored a full 57.5% of Carson's points, the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Harry, who scored nine points.
Carson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for El Segundo, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing South East the next time they take the court. Carson will head out to face South East at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while El Segundo will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
