Basketball Game Preview: Alcona Tigers vs. Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts

The Alcona Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Alcona is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Alcona was beaten by Grayling 72-42.

Alcona's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Evan Borsvold, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards, and Gavin Dellar, who posted seven points and six boards. The match was Borsvold's third in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mio-Au Sable). In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 44-43 win over Posen.

The victory got Mio-Au Sable back to even at 2-2. As for Alcona, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Alcona didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mio-Au Sable when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. Does Alcona have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mio-Au Sable turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
