Basketball Game Preview: Bruton Panthers vs. Jamestown Eagles

The Bruton Panthers will face off against the Jamestown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bruton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, everything came up roses for Bruton against York as the team secured a 61-24 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Bruton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Johnathan Hopkins, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 18 points, and Brandon Freeman, who posted ten points along with eight assists and five steals. That's the most points Hopkins has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Lapastora, who had eight points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-32 loss at the hands of Warwick.

Jamestown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bruton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
