Basketball Recap: East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] Rivals vs. Annie Wright Gators
After flying high against the Charles Wright Tarriers last Tuesday, the East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] Rivals came back down to earth. East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] was beaten by the Gators 91-39 on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost four in a row.
Loss or not, East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] got some senior leadership from Keidan Guzman and Stuart Dow. Guzman dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Dow. scored eight points along with four blocks. Dow is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Annie Wright, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Bellevue Christian the next time they take the court. East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Gators will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
