Softball Recap: Monterey Wildcats vs. Trousdale County Yellowjackets
After flying high against Pickett County on Thursday, Monterey came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Trousdale County Yellowjackets on Friday, falling 13-4. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Kaylin Shepherd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haylee Trevathan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Trousdale County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3-1.
Monterey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 defeat against White County on the 14th. As for Trousdale County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Liberty Creek on the 15th.
