Basketball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Falls Despite Big Games from Morgan Beasley and Landri Schaffer

Gardner-Edgerton lost against Olathe West back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers came up short against the Olathe West Owls, falling 60-34. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gardner-Edgerton's loss came despite strong showings from Landri Schaffer and Morgan Beasley. Schaffer went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points, while Beasley posted five points and seven boards. Schaffer's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Gardner-Edgerton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Olathe West, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Gardner-Edgerton has already played their next matchup, a 64-44 loss against Olathe South on the 18th. As for Olathe West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-24 victory against Shawnee Mission Northwest on the 18th.
