Basketball Recap: Williamsport's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

A well-balanced attack led Williamsport over Middletown in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Williamsport Wildcats took down the Middletown Knights 75-56. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 75-56 last Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Williamsport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ceonta Wilmore, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. The match was Wilmore's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Zay Oree was another key player, going 9 of 15 en route to 23 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Williamsport, bringing their record for this year to 14-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 26.7% in those games and 20% outside of them. As for Middletown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Williamsport Wildcats take on the Catoctin Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Williamsport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Middletown, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-56 victory against Maryland School for the Deaf on the 5th.
