Basketball Recap: Houston Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Houston Adventist Academy lost against Calvary Baptist on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Houston Adventist Academy took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Baptist Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why Houston Adventist Academy lost, don't look at Ottis Crudup. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points. Crudup is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 35 games he's played dating back to last season. Tadeo Cedeno was another key player, putting up ten points.

Calvary Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Wilson led the charge by earning 17 points along with six assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Guisler, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Houston Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Calvary Baptist, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-5.

Houston Adventist Academy has already played their next game (against Faith West Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Calvary Baptist will challenge St. Joseph Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season.
