Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Rock Creek Mustangs

Chapman hasn't had much luck against Rock Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chapman Irish will square off against the Rock Creek Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Chapman was beaten by Marysville 61-34. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Rock Creek came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-29 win over the Panthers. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Rock Creek pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Chapman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-16.

Chapman was taken down by Rock Creek 84-26 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Chapman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
