Basketball Recap: Spring Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Spring Valley lost against Dutch Fork back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings took a hard 67-48 fall against the Silver Foxes. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Silver Foxes are ranked 21st).

Despite the loss, Spring Valley still got an impressive performance from Dominique Briggs, who posted 12 points and five boards. Briggs has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Bethea, who had 11 points.

Leading Dutch Fork to victory were Jamia Gerald and Trinity Crumlin. Gerald almost dropped a triple-double with 14 points, ten assists, and nine steals, while Crumlin dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Those ten assists gave Gerald a new career-high. Aaliyah Lee was another key player, putting up eight points.

Spring Valley now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Dutch Fork, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Spring Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-55 victory against Richland Northeast on the 5th. As for Dutch Fork, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-25 win against Summerville on the 4th.
