Basketball Game Preview: Boone Braves vs. Astronaut War Eagles

The Boone Braves will venture away from home to take on the Astronaut War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Boone knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Astronaut likes a good challenge.

Boone is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Olympia just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Titans are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Astronaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Titusville 71-35.

Astronaut's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Boone was able to grind out a solid victory over Astronaut in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 65-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boone since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
