Frontier Regional is 8-2 against Hopkins Academy since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Hopkins Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Frontier Regional, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, it was close, but Frontier Regional sidestepped Easthampton/Hampshire for a 7-5 win. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kaden James made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. James was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Frontier Regional got a big performance out of Henry Drinker, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Drinker a new career-high. Ben Caron was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Frontier Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Easthampton/Hampshire only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Hopkins Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-4 to Hampshire Regional. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Hawks have suffered since June 7, 2024.
Frontier Regional's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Hopkins Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Frontier Regional was able to grind out a solid victory over Hopkins Academy when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-0. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Golden Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
