Softball Recap: Riley Palank Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Southern Lehigh

Southern Lehigh typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Notre Dame-Green Pond proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 5-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Emily Szczepanski's shutout, as she gave up just six hits.

On the hitting side, Riley Palank was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Sydney Ryan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Notre Dame-Green Pond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Southern Lehigh, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
