Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Mansfield

Mansfield barely beat Sayre the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp 22-0 win on Friday. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Easton Cleveland-Pequignot was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Riley Oakes was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mansfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Mansfield's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sayre, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Mansfield will head out to square off against Wyalusing Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Sayre, they will square off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
