Softball Recap: Mater Bay Academy's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The matchup between Mater Bay Academy and Mater Lakes Academy on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Rays walked away with a 13-9 win over the Bears. This was a revenge game for the Rays: when they faced off against the Bears back in March, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Jarilynn Romero was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Katelyn Delgado also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mater Bay Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mater Lakes Academy only managed ten hits.

Mater Bay Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

Mater Bay Academy has already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Schoolhouse Prep on the 21st. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Hialeah on the 21st.
