Baseball Recap: Roxana's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Roxana was the 3-1 winner over Civic Memorial when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Shells fell 6-3 to the Eagles on Friday.

Roxana got a good showing from Bradley Herrin, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Herrin has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dalton Carriker and Kael Hester did some serious damage despite the final result: Carriker went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hester went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was Hester's first of the season.

Roxana's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4-1. As for Civic Memorial, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Coming up, Roxana will be playing in front of their home fans against Breese Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Civic Memorial, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jersey at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
