Football Recap: Levelland Lobos vs. Lake View Chiefs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Levelland). They took down the Lake View Chiefs 44-26 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lobos also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Levelland's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Eli Randol and Eryk Jones. Randol is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Lake View's side was Gabriel Hernandez, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Despite the defeat, Lake View had strong showings from Sammy Ramirez, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and Braylon White, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Ramirez a new career-high in rushing yards.
Levelland now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lake View, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
Levelland will take on Snyder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Levelland is facing Snyder at the right time seeing as Snyder is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lake View, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Burnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
