Baseball Recap: 17 Straight Home Wins for Sylmar

Sylmar got themselves on the board against Roosevelt on Tuesday, but Roosevelt never followed suit. They came out on top against the Rough Riders by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Not much got past Rickee Luevano, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Roosevelt off the board. Luevano has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luis Mendoza was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Sylmar's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.0 runs this season. As for Roosevelt, they moved to 8-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Sylmar will take on Marshall in a tournament on Thursday. As for Roosevelt, they will be taking part in a tournament against Poly at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
