Soccer Game Preview: San Lorenzo vs. Berkeley

San Lorenzo is 0-7-2 against Berkeley since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The San Lorenzo Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m.

Things were looking good for San Lorenzo after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Tennyson by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Berkeley waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Trojans. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Trojans are ranked 737th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berkeley is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those 11 contests. As for San Lorenzo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2.

San Lorenzo might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Berkeley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can San Lorenzo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
