Mountain Island Charter has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Langtree Charter Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Mountain Island Charter suffered a tough 72-52 loss at the hands of the Pride. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain Island Charter has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Mountain Island Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Peyton Hill, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Christan Jones, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Langtree Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 78-47 loss at the hands of Corvian Community. Langtree Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.
Mountain Island Charter dropped their record down to 9-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Langtree Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.
Everything went Mountain Island Charter's way against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January as the Raptor made off with a 77-56 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Langtree Charter's Anthony Nesbit, who scored 20 points along with six steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Mountain Island Charter still be able to contain Nesbit? There's only one way to find out.
