Softball Recap: Monsignor Mcclancy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Monsignor McClancy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They never let the St. Francis Prep Terriers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-9 victory two weeks ago.

Taylor Roth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Monsignor McClancy let Jazlene Rivera and Kaiya Sciacco run wild. Rivera went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sciacco went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Rivera a new career-high.

Monsignor McClancy pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for St. Francis Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

As of now, neither Monsignor McClancy nor the Terriers have any future games scheduled.
