Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Hurricane Tigers
The Springville Red Devils will face off against the Hurricane Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Springville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
Springville kicked off their season on the road and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Cyprus by a score of 41-39.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brynn Johnson, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Fales, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hurricane was able to grind out a solid victory over Jordan two weeks ago, taking the game 39-29. The victory was just what Hurricane needed coming off of a 67-44 defeat in their prior match.
Hurricane got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Crandall out in front who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Abbigail Stout was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals.
Springville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hurricane, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
