Baseball Recap: Belvidere Gets the Win

Belvidere won the last time they faced Rockford Auburn and things went their way on Friday too. The Bucs walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bucs.

Aj Vasquez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Paul Stark was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Belvidere: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-16 otherwise.

Belvidere's record is now 4-17. As for Rockford Auburn, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Belvidere beat the Knights by a score of 11-1 on Monday.
