Football Recap: Liberty Christian Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

Liberty Christian extended their postseason success on Saturday against Parish Episcopal. Everything went their way against the Parish Episcopal Panthers as they made off with a 45-24 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won ten matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Chase Garnett, who rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 85 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Quinn Murphy, who threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns.

Garnett was just one part of a punishing run game: Liberty Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Liberty Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaylon Hawkins and Jonah Sullivan. Liberty Christian got some further help from Cj Witten: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.

Sawyer Anderson and Beckham Smith certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Anderson threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns, while Smith picked up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of Anderson's aerial production (100 yards to be exact) also went to Bryson Fields.

The win (which was Liberty Christian's 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.5 points per game. As for Parish Episcopal, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

As of now, neither Liberty Christian nor Parish Episcopal have any future games scheduled.
