Baseball Recap: Pascagoula Comes Up Short

Pascagoula had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it six. They fell just short of the East Central Hornets by a score of 4-2. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hornets since Tuesday.

Matt Ditsworth was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As for East Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 28, 2025.

On East Central's side, Hunter Prouty looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, East Central's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gage Damazio, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Damazio has posted since back in March of 2025. Another was Christian McFaul, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

While Pascagoula had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
