Basketball Recap: Quemado Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Quemado and Roy/Mosquero squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Quemado had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 59-28 loss at the hands of the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue/Lady Blue apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Roy/Mosquero was led to victory by Natalie Smith and Sylviana Baca. Smith went 8-for-12 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Baca posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Crisp, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Quemado's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Roy/Mosquero, the win keeps them at an undefeated 29-0.

Quemado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roy/Mosquero, they have already played their next match, a 68-56 victory against Fort Sumner/House on the 15th.
