Softball Game Preview: Shepherd Bluejays vs. Meridian Mustangs

The Shepherd Bluejays are taking a road trip to square off against the Meridian Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shepherd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Shepherd is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Petoskey just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Northmen by a score of 2-1.

Shepherd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elise McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meridian). They blew past Gladwin 14-3 on Friday. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Flying G's on their field since April 30, 2019.

Shepherd suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 7-6. As for Meridian, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
