After a string of four wins, Stevenson's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fremd Vikings. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Stevenson got a good showing from Sam Prosk, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Those zero earned runs gave Prosk a new career-low.

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Fremd, they pushed their record up to 15-0-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Stevenson and Fremd should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Patriots will challenge Lake Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (163 vs. 353). Meanwhile, Fremd (ranked eighth) will meet Palatine (ranked 76th) at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
