Basketball Game Preview: Heyworth Hornets vs. Flanagan/Woodland Falcons

Heyworth has gone 8-2 against Flanagan/Woodland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Heyworth Hornets will look to defend their home court against the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Heyworth is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They snuck past Lexington with a 37-31 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Flanagan/Woodland hadn't done well against LeRoy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Flanagan/Woodland secured a 48-42 W over LeRoy.

Heyworth better keep an eye on Ella Derossett. She was instrumental in Flanagan/Woodland's win, going 8-for-20 on her way to 18 points and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Derossett has scored at least a third of Flanagan/Woodland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Palaschak, who posted nine points.

Heyworth's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Flanagan/Woodland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-20.
