After flying high against Western Reserve Academy last Saturday, Utah Prep came back down to earth. The Utah Prep Athletes lost to the Montverde Academy Eagles on the road by a 74-60 margin on Sunday. The Athletes' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

AJ Dybantsa Jr. and Anthony Felesi certainly did their best on Sunday to avoid the loss. Dybantsa Jr. dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards, while Felesi dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards Dybantsa Jr. has posted since back in November of 2024. Jackson Kiss was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Utah Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montverde Academy only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.

Montverde Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CJ Ingram, who made all 6 shots he took for 16 points. Another player making a difference was Trent Sisley, who went 7 for 12 en route to 15 points and eight boards.

Utah Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Montverde Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Utah Prep will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sagemont on January 30th.
