Basketball Recap: Diego Salazar Gold's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rudder over A&M Consolidated

Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the A&M Consolidated Tigers. If the Rangers were looking for revenge after losing 71-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rudder lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Diego Salazar Gold, who posted nine points along with seven boards and six assists. Those six assists gave Salazar Gold a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Randon Cooks, who put up 12 points.

Rudder's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for A&M Consolidated, they moved to 11-16-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lake Creek the next time they take the court. A&M Consolidated will head out to face Lake Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rudder will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th.
