Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Morgan Township was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Michigan City on Saturday. The Cherokees put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 16-9 win. With that victory, the Cherokees brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Caleb Ksenak looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Morgan Township is 2-1 when Ksenak allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-9-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Walters, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Cal Lemmons, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
