Volleyball Recap: Brookstone's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Brookstone unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Woodward Academy War Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the War Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16.

Carsyn Galligan paced Brookstone's offense, picking up six kills. Galligan got some help from Evangeline Gutierrez and her eight assists.

Peyton Moore was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and two aces.

Brookstone's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Woodward Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Brookstone will challenge Lee County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodward Academy, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Starr's Mill on the 14th.
