Newburgh Free Academy won the last time they faced Cornwall Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Goldbacks walked away with a 13-9 win over the Dragons.

Ashlyn LeClair and Ryan Keller did most of the damage at the plate: LeClair scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Keller scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan White, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Newburgh Free Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cornwall Central, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Newburgh Free Academy will face off against Kingston at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Goldbacks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Cornwall Central, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Pine Bush at 4:30 p.m.
