Softball Recap: Winamac Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Winamac waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Clinton Prairie Gophers. Considering the Warriors have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Adrianna Hall was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Winamac got a big performance out of Maggie Keller, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Jordan Compton also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Winamac hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 21 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Winamac's record is now 13-1. As for Clinton Prairie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Winamac didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Frankton on the 9th. As for Clinton Prairie, they have also already played their next game, an 11-10 win against Delphi Community on the 9th.
