Basketball Recap: Community Skates Past Spruce with Ease

While Community didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-29), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Spruce Timberwolves 71-32 on Friday. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 1227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Community is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Spruce, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community will be home for the holidays to greet Rains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spruce, they will welcome Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce is facing Adams at the right time seeing as Adams is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
