Baseball Recap: Firelands Drops Season-High Score on Oberlin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Firelands). They blew past the Oberlin Phoenix 21-6 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Aaron Bower was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Radanovich, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Firelands always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Firelands' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5-1. As for Oberlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Firelands will square off against Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oberlin, they will take on Keystone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
